GAMSAT generally evaluates your ability to solve problems, think critically and express your ideas effectively in writing through your performance in three areas; namely, Humanities & Social Sciences, Written Communication, and Biological & Physical Sciences (see the corresponding test sections in the table below). Although assumed knowledge in certain subjects would be helpful to some extent, the stimulus material used during the exam will often explore advanced-level content in order to assess your reasoning skills and ability to interpret graphs, tables, and mathematical relationships.
Currently, the GAMSAT exam is administered in testing centres with individual computers for each candidate. However, in cases of strict quarantine or lockdown restrictions (such as during the May-June 2020 sitting and in select locations in September 2020), the exam is delivered online via remote proctoring. Sitting the exam in a testing centre lasts approximately 6 hours with all three sections completed in a single day (shown in the table below). On the other hand, in exams done remotely, candidates sit Section 1 and Section 2 together in a single day while Section 3 is scheduled for a different day.
Summary of the new 2025 Digital GAMSAT Exam Day |

A science background is not a prerequisite in sitting the GAMSAT. If your first degree is in a non-scientific or a non-clinical field of study, you can still sit the GAMSAT and be possibly chosen for admission to a graduate-entry programme as long as you meet any of the following qualifications:
However, it must be stressed that GAMSAT success is unlikely without knowledge and ability in the biological and physical sciences. And of course, academic excellence in the humanities and social sciences is encouraged and recognised. A study conducted by Annette Mercer, et al, published in 2015, unsurprisingly indicates the following:
"Candidates with Arts and Social Science qualifications score highest in Sections 1 and 2 and candidates with Physical Science-based qualifications score highest in Section 3, suggesting that performance in individual sections of GAMSAT is dependent on discipline-specific skills and that each section is assessing different attributes." (From GAMSAT: A 10-year retrospective overview, with detailed analysis of candidates' performance in 2014)
Sitting the GAMSAT with a non-science background and eventually getting accepted to a medical school in the UK is entirely possible. Of course, getting a high GAMSAT score involves a problem-based learning approach in your preparation and adopting proven strategies such as the 70/30 formula as discussed by the experienced GAMSAT teacher, Dr Brett Ferdinand, in this video:
GAMSAT scores are mapped onto a scale which ranges from a high of 100 to a low of 0. Note that more than 95% of candidates will receive a scaled GAMSAT score between 40 and 80.
GAMSAT scores are based on Item Response Theory (IRT) which depends on the cohort and the degree of exam difficulty. IRT is a statistical adjustment to ensure that GAMSAT scores are comparable from year to year. Your GAMSAT score is not a direct equivalent to your raw score (i.e. how many correct answers divided by how many questions in Section 1 or 3), nor is your GAMSAT score a simple percentage.
Your GAMSAT results will be available in November for the September sitting. Results for GAMSAT held in March will be available in May. An email will be sent to you explaining how to access your results online. You will receive a score for each of the three sections, together with an Overall GAMSAT Score. The Overall Score is a weighted average of the three component scores. Each of the four GAMSAT scores is expressed on a scale of 0 to 100. Again, these are not percentage marks.
Overall Score = (1 x Section I + 1 x Section II + 2 x Section III) / 4
*As you can see, the science section (Section III) is weighted twice so that your overall GAMSAT score is 50% non science and 50% science. Some medical schools, such as The University of Nottingham in the UK and both the University of Melbourne and the University of Sydney in Australia, weight all three sections equally.Note: The Overall Score is calculated to several decimal places. It is not possible for candidates to replicate this process.
Average, good and high GAMSAT scores are relative terms and, as such, are dependent on perspective, the cohort and the medical school to which you intend to apply.
The following table provides a general guide. Please keep in mind that the percentile rank indicates your test performance relative to all the students who sat the same test on the same day. It records the percentage of students whose scores were lower than yours.
Score | Percentile | Score |
---|---|---|
56-58 | 50th | average |
61-63 | 75th | usually good* |
73 or higher | 98th | very high |
*Please note, a "good" score may be good enough for admittance to one particular medical school but below the cutoff of another. Consult the websites of the medical institutions to which you intend to apply.
An average GAMSAT score is often around 56-58 and a high GAMSAT score is over 65. Technically, the highest possible GAMSAT score is 100; however, only 0.1% of students score over 80. When you hear a student make the claim "I scored 100", they are usually rounding their percentile rank as opposed to providing the scaled score.
Please keep in mind when evaluating the statistics provided and the graphic: this data is meant to give you a general idea of the process. The numbers can vary somewhat from one exam sitting to another. And as mentioned previously, you cannot replicate the scoring system at home since there is no formula provided to convert raw scores into official GAMSAT scores.
GAMSAT is offered twice a year, in March and September, in each of the UK, Ireland and Australia, as well as selected international locations. Due to the new digital format, the March and September 2022 GAMSAT exams are now scheduled in date ranges: March 18-23, and September 5-9, 2022. The following is a table with key dates to keep you on track with registration and sitting dates. For detailed information such as past GAMSAT release dates and application deadlines to graduate entry medicine programmes, please go to our GAMSAT Scores & Results UK page.

Registrations for both the March and September exams are done online. You are required to provide a valid email address in creating an online account at the Australian Council for Educational Research's website. For more information about the registration process, please go to ACER's official GAMSAT website.
GAMSAT test centres in the UK for September are located in Birmingham, Cardiff, Derry/Londonderry (NI), Edinburgh, Liverpool, London, Norwich, Plymouth, Sheffield and Sunderland. GAMSAT test centres outside the UK are located in Singapore, Washington D.C. and Wellington, New Zealand. As described above, students applying to medical schools which accept the GAMSAT in the UK, Ireland or Australia can sit any of the two available exams during the year. Students can opt to sit the GAMSAT in March in Bristol, Derry/Londonderry (NI), Leeds, Liverpool and London. No other GAMSAT testing centres are available in the UK.
There is no limit to the number of times you can sit the GAMSAT. You may even choose to sit the exam twice in one year. It is important to note that any two tests on different examination dates will have, essentially, the same format; however, many questions are changed for each exam. GAMSAT scores from either the March or September sitting are also interchangeable and can be used to apply to any university in the UK,Ireland and Australia that requires the GAMSAT.
However, please note that GAMSAT scores are valid for only 2 years in the UK and Ireland, and 4 years in Australia. Make sure that your scores have not expired if you are using a score from a previous sitting of the GAMSAT. Otherwise, you choose the GAMSAT score that you wish to submit for consideration for admissions.

GAMSAT Section 2 or "Written Communication" is the only non-multiple choice test section of the GAMSAT. It consists of 2 writing tasks - Writing Task A and Writing Task B - each presenting a list of four statements referred to as Comments and which share a common theme.
Candidates are expected to produce a written response to both themes within a 60-minute time limit.
Although no particular essay format is required for each writing task, many candidates in the past reported having great success with a dialectic, argumentative format in Task A and a personal, reflective one in Task B.
Essential GAMSAT Section 2 skills:
If you find writing essays or generating ideas under timed conditions to be challenging, below are excellent resources to get you started. Remember that a key to improving one's written communication skills is to read good writing. As you read various works, think about what makes them good. Please note: ACER announced in 2011 that calculators will no longer be permitted for GAMSAT Section 3. Our updated list of GAMSAT Physics Topics can be found towards the bottom of this page.
While the GAMSAT Maths section does not exist in the real exam, Section 3 does have a few problems (particularly in GAMSAT Physics or GAMSAT Chemistry) that require basic mathematical skills or manipulations. Keep in mind that the GAMSAT March 2012 sitting was the first time ever that calculators were banned. Many students were surprised by the number of calculations they were required to perform on the real exam. So, is it possible to pass these GAMSAT Maths questions without the help of a calculator?
Well, if you are patient, you will learn that being efficient and using pattern recognition can be very powerful. You CAN actually make "magic" with numbers on the GAMSAT. Below are a few quick and useful tips and formulas to add to your GAMSAT Maths techniques.
* For advice on essential items to bring during the exam, please check out our forum on GAMSAT Test Day Items.
Have you seen these numbers on GAMSAT Physics or GAMSAT Chemistry exams: 1.44, 1.69? Do they ring a bell? You should have memorised all squares between 1 and 15. You likely have 1 to 10 stone cold! 11 squared is 121, 12 is 144, 13 is 169, 14 is 196, 15 is 225 . . . Test makers choose their numbers carefully. The moment you see 1.44 on the GAMSAT, there would be a high likelihood that taking the square root, which gives 1.2, would be required. Pattern recognition, yes?
Sometimes the GAMSAT will say, if B increases by 44%, by what % will A increase? Easy as pie! If B increases by 44%, that is the same as saying 1.44(B) and we know that root 1.44 is 1.2, which means the original sq root B = A has increased by 20%. (Of course, it's not a math test so they won't use "A" and "B" but rather they may present a physics equation to you). Even if they tell you, "given g = 9.8 m/s2," you use 10 unless the answers are very close to each other.
Pi is 3.14, root 2 is 1.4, root 3 is 1.7. Don't be surprised if you need to calculate the perimeter (2 pi r) or area (pi r squared) of a circle. Be comfortable estimating the root of anything! Root 17? Well, the answer must be between 4 and 5 but closer to 4! Check the answers and don't calculate anything if there is only one answer that is between 4 and 4.5.
Fractions will usually permit you to be more efficient. For huge and tiny numbers, you need to be comfy with scientific notation. And if you can hang on to variables for as long as possible, that's even better. You may be surprised how many times mass m ends up being irrelevant as it happily cancels out!
Most past "gamsatters" felt that they rarely used their calculators for GAMSAT Maths. So relax! Be sure that you know the basics and work through all of ACER's practice materials without the use of a calculator and then math will not hold you back!

We believe that a student who has a long history of regularly reading books or editorials, writing essays at a high level and has a strong scientific intuitive reasoning may only do a few practice tests and then excel when sitting the real GAMSAT. Most students must prepare much more than that. In our estimation, adequate GAMSAT preparation requires, on average, 3-6 hours per day for 3-6 months depending on your past academic and life experiences. So we have created a way for you to build a free GAMSAT Study Schedule on GAMSAT-prep.com for your GAMSAT test preparation. The Gold Standard believes that with adequate time, practice and preparation that you can achieve the GAMSAT score that you want. Good luck!

GAMSAT stands for the Graduate Medical School Admissions Test, which is a standardised exam designed, scored and developed by ACER to assist in the admissions of students to graduate-entry programmes (medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, podiatry) open to graduates of any discipline.
GAMSAT has been delivered as a pen and paper exam since its inception in 1996; however, due to strict physical distancing protocols brought about by the COVID-19 outbreak, the March 2020 exam was administered online and remotely proctored in May-June. In September 2020, GAMSAT remained in digital format but this time held at selected test centres. ACER recently announced that the March and September 2022 sittings will continue to be delivered in digital format at test centres.
When can you sit the GAMSAT?
GAMSAT is offered twice a year, in March and September, in each of the UK, Ireland and Australia, as well as selected international locations. Due to the new digital format, the March and September 2022 GAMSAT exams are now scheduled in date ranges: March 17-30, and September 3-16, 2021. The following is a summary of a typical GAMSAT exam day.

Over 300 videos, more than 70 viewing hours: We begin with very basic introductory-level Section 3 (science) videos for students with non-science backgrounds (NSB), or for students who may have forgotten some of the fundamentals of the basic sciences. Our GAMSAT videos build up to GAMSAT-level practice questions and concepts which students have found to be very helpful in recent years. We use a problem-based learning (PBL) approach.
And yet another innovation since last year: We produced new GAMSAT videos with several hours of GAMSAT-graph analysis and interpretation (again, applying PBL). We have our 'old school' and 'new school' teaching videos, as well as virtual classroom videos. You can sample our different video formats on YouTube, Vimeo or by logging into gamsat-prep.com for a free GAMSAT account (1 hour of access). Also included, for the first time, are recordings from our live GAMSAT course held in 2020 in Melbourne just prior to the global pandemic. The science part of the course was held from 9 am to 5 pm for 4 days.
Note that video access includes an active forum where you can post for free to obtain any clarification that you are seeking.

GAMSAT questions have certain patterns. Learn those patterns to master those questions. Our Gold Standard GAMSAT virtual reality full-length practice tests are based on ACER's format and thus reproduce the balance of question types, timing and difficulty level of the real GAMSAT.
In this course, students sit a full-length practice exam (Virtual Reality GAMSAT VR-1 exam) on the 1st day; the 2nd day is for review and problem-solving analysis; the 3rd day is to cover advanced GAMSAT topics and to apply problem-based learning to the review of the content from the VR-1 practice test. A second full-length proctored GAMSAT VR-2 Mock Exam features the best of Gold Standard's GAMSAT-level practice questions.

Did my GAMSAT back in 2010 and only got 58 for Section 2. After two months of essay practice and feedback from Gold Standard, boosted my Section 2 to 68 this year. Highly recommended.
The Gold Standard program is a godsend! The dedication, conscientious student-centred approach and excellent collaboration within the team are evident in the comprehensive range of their service – the textbooks, Question of the Day, webinars, videos, work solutions for practice tests, the Heaps book, the Live Course and the Essay Correction Service, to name a few.
My learning journey has been well supported by Dr. Ferdinand and his strong team, who excel themselves at a 'gold standard'. The Essay Correction Service has been a great eye opener. The markers' constructive and thought-provoking timely feedback has certainly helped me learn to write essays in the style required for the GAMSAT writing tasks. Furthermore, they have been a catalyst for broadening my skill base way beyond sitting the exam, sharpening my awareness of the world, humanity and about myself.
Thank you all for your great effort and being such excellent guides along the journey.
With much appreciation,
Izumi Hart

We call them our Virtual Reality (VR) GAMSAT exams because they are as similar to the real exam as possible without replicating the real exam. VR-1 and VR-2 are both full-length 'greatest hits' practice papers proctored on campus.
First, we constructed the step-by-step worked solutions for all 440 Section 3 MCQs from ACER with the aim to make your GAMSAT preparation easier. But of course, in so doing we took a deep dive into ACER's techniques, reasoning and strategies. This experience informs the construction of our VR exams. Then, we listened to recurring exam themes from students as reported in public forums, with an emphasis on the most recent real exams. To be clear, we have no interest in replicating precise questions; our objective is to replicate the reasoning through themes which can be applied to innumerable other scenarios that ACER may construct.
We have taken our top MCQs: 185 for each exam from across the GS Universe of over 5000 MCQs based on recent and recurring themes from the real GAMSAT. All of this, and you can sit the VR test as a proctored exam in a classroom with your peers. You will receive raw scores, scaled scores, and your 2 essays corrected and returned to you within 1 week with helpful, constructive comments.
The GS Universe includes 4 books, online chapter review MCQs, webinars, HEAPS mock exams including GS exams, as well as some content strictly constructed for the VR mock exams.
VR-1 is followed by 2 full days of deconstruction, strategies and PBL.
VR-2 is followed by online access to answers, helpful worked solutions including Section 3 background videos where applicable.
Now is the time to get ready for your Virtual Reality GAMSAT!
GAMSAT is open to anyone who wishes to apply to a graduate programme in medicine and dentistry that requires this exam. You must be someone who:
To sit the GAMSAT, there are no academic prerequisites per se. However, either formal or self-directed learning in the humanities, biological and physical sciences would be helpful. If you believe that you have achieved an appropriate level of intellectual maturity and subject knowledge to meet the demands of the test, you may register online here: Register for GAMSAT
Some programmes besides medicine and dentistry may also require sitting the GAMSAT. Learn more about specific requirements of various medical programmes in the following related sites: UK Medical Schools, Irish Medical Schools, Australian Medical Schools
Twelve universities in Australia currently offer graduate medical programmes to both domestic and international students. Only Monash University and 7 other Australasian medical schools admit students into an undergraduate program of five or six years' period.
While each university varies in their admission requirements, depending on their programs' goals and emphases, the graduate entry medicine (GEM) universities listed on this page require candidates to sit the GAMSAT (or MCAT for international students). Academic performance in an undergraduate degree and interview skills are vital considerations in the schools' selection criteria. Most universities provide details regarding average to minimum GPA and GAMSAT scores in a pool of applicants. On the other hand, some universities are unable to provide definite figures because of the unique assessment methods they use and the variety of places they offer to applicants. For students who wish to obtain more accurate information, please refer to the university website link provided on this page.
Of the over 10 000 students worldwide who sit the GAMSAT every year, approximately 75% intend to apply to Australian medical schools (unofficial figures). Some students, of course, intend to apply to other professional schools such as graduate entry dentistry at the University of Sydney or dentistry or optometry at Melbourne University.
A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is a higher education place, in which the Australian Government makes a contribution to a student's university towards the cost of education. In other words, the Government subsidises part of your medical or professional school fees, making your fees much lower. For example, Australian citizens and permanent residents are estimated to vie for approximately 1700 GEM positions in 2017. A Commonwealth Supported Place (CSP) is a higher education place, in which the Australian Government makes a contribution to a student's university towards the cost of education. In other words, the Government subsidises part of your medical or professional school fees, making your fees much lower. For example, 1100 of the 1700 positions, more or less, will be CSPs. The remaining positions would carry a bond. Given adequate academic and interview performance, a high enough GAMSAT score may ensure both a CSP and admissions to medical, dental or optometry school. In addition to the 1700 GEM positions for Australian citizens and permanent residents, there are more than an additional 300 full-fee-paying positions available to international candidates.
Among the various medical schools in the UK, Ireland and Australia, both the University of Melbourne and University of Sydney weights all three sections equally.Note: The Overall Score is calculated to several decimal places.
GAMSAT scores from either the March or September sitting are interchangeable and can be used to apply to any university in Australia, the UK and Ireland that requires the GAMSAT. Make sure that your scores have not expired if you are using a score from a previous sitting of the GAMSAT (i.e. GAMSAT scores cannot be more than two years old). Otherwise, you can choose the GAMSAT score that you wish to submit for consideration for admissions.
There is no limit to the number of times you can sit the GAMSAT. You may even choose to sit the exam twice in one year. It is important to note that any two tests on different examination dates will have, essentially, the same format; however, many questions are changed for each exam.
Cut-offs and/or average GAMSAT scores for specific medical schools/programmes can be found in the following related sites: UK Medical Schools, Irish Medical Schools, Australian Medical Schools.
Gold Standard GAMSAT has assembled free GAMSAT preparation material including free GAMSAT sample questions (both a practice test and a free GAMSAT Question of the Day), helpful advice, and links to many other free GAMSAT resources. We have placed links that will help you be more analytical in the humanities and social sciences (Section 1) while, at the same time, helping you develop relevant content that you can use for your essays (Section 2). We have also placed links to officially corrected real past Writing Sample tests for the MCAT which simulates Writing Test A (argumentative) of GAMSAT Section 2 in terms of timing, length and format. For Section 3 advice, we have placed links to physics formulas (equation lists) and organic chemistry mechanisms which will help you practice for the real test.
Please click here to access these materials: Free GAMSAT Resources
GAMSAT Sample Questions is actually the name of the blue booklet that ACER now publishes as an e-book (PDF). Since late 2011, ACER began publishing GAMSAT Sample Questions electronically and it is no longer available as a brand new hardcopy booklet. Currently, the cost of this e-book is included in the cost of your registration. If you happen to have access to a past edition of this mini-practice test (i.e. second hand from eBay, Gumtree, etc.) then you should know that though the cover has changed over the years, the content has not. We have also placed video explanations to all 56 Section 3 questions of this booklet on YouTube: ACER's GAMSAT Sample Questions Worked Solutions.
ACER also has 2 full-length practice tests. If you want more practice materials than ACER has available, you can get online access to free GAMSAT sample questions which we assembled into a practice test below.
Students have asked us to combine our Gold Standard GAMSAT sample questions into a practice test. We went one step further and created a free sample test with instant online access and including many features such as automated scoring of multiple choice sections; worked solutions containing forum links for further discussion; and finally, 1 hour of science review videos. Free GAMSAT ResourcesThe solution to improve one's GAMSAT score is problem-based learning. Although this may be uncomfortable at first, much research has shown why it is most effective and, understandably, it has long been championed by ACER (see GAMSAT Structure and Content), as well as Gold Standard GAMSAT (see GAMSAT Courses PBL; note that Gold Standard is not associated with ACER in any way). Along with careful use of ACER's practice materials, Gold Standard GAMSAT's multimedia program (textbook, courses and videos, apps, etc.) can be central to an effective GAMSAT preparation plan.
"Since problem-based learning techniques are central to modern medical curricula, GAMSAT is constructed with a major focus on the assessment of problem solving ability across a wide range of subject areas."
- ACER's description of GAMSAT 2020, GAMSAT Structure and Content
The most common mistake that students make, from both science and non-science backgrounds, is to learn that GAMSAT is a reasoning test but then prepare as though it is a knowledge-based exam. This tactical error usually results in major exam-day surprises. Referring to such experiences as "trials" without the benefit of a rigorous preparation, does not result in significant long-term GAMSAT score improvements (see 10-year Retrospective Study). Rather, developing your own preparation schedule, or ascribing to one such as our Gold Standard GAMSAT Study Schedule, is more likely to increase the chance that you will optimise your GAMSAT score.
For a more detailed, 4-step guide to improving your GAMSAT scores, please click here: Step-by-step Strategy To Optimise Your GAMSAT Score
GAMSAT results are released within 2 months of sitting the exam. Candidates are emailed login information to access their personal results report. Should there be any changes to the exam dates or any other modifications, get the up-to-date information here: GAMSAT ACER website.

Admission Requirements:
We believe that a student who has a long history of regularly reading books or editorials, writing essays at a high level and has a strong scientific intuitive reasoning may only do a few practice tests and then excel when sitting the real GAMSAT. Most students must prepare much more than that. In our estimation, adequate GAMSAT preparation requires, on average, 3-6 hours per day for 3-6 months depending on your past academic and life experiences. So we have created a way for you to build a free GAMSAT Study Schedule for your GAMSAT test preparation. The Gold Standard believes that with adequate time, practice and preparation that you can achieve the GAMSAT score that you want. Good luck!
In addition, Gold Standard GAMSAT created and uploaded over 100 free videos with the worked solutions to ACER's practice materials to help your GAMSAT preparation.
Subscribe NowGold Standard GAMSAT books are almost always available at your university or local library. Even if your library doesn't have the most recent edition, you would be surprised at how quickly they will procure updated material due to a member's request.
Note that our books have come a long way since our first publication in 2010. Only the most recent editions reflect the most recent GAMSAT trends.

With much appreciation,
Izumi Hart

Complete GAMSAT Course including Live Classes, All Course Materials and Online Features
Every year, we do have students attending our classes with no preparation. Although all students will learn in class because of the interactive way we teach, preparing for class will help you optimise your in-class experience. If the real GAMSAT is the Olympics, Gold Standard courses represent your coach and training, and what you do at home is similar to going to the gym to work out before you come for training.
We will spell out the ideal pre-class preparation below. However, if the ideal is not possible, no matter what your background, please review our online Gold Standard videos. You can review all of Physics, from the very beginning right up to what we do in class, in only 5 hours. So at least by spending time reviewing each of the sciences in the Videos section of gamsat-prep.com, you would greatly improve your long term advantage of attending class. If you don't want to access our videos, you can try Khan Academy or YouTube searches.
Our aim is to help you optimise your score in the most efficient way possible.
There are some fun things that we suggest for Section 1 and 2, like spending a few minutes on TED.com at least twice per week. If you see a video that you really like, take down just a couple of sentences (notes). You may find it perfect for an essay.
Do the exercises in the Gold Standard book for Sections 1 and 2. If you don't have the book, consider getting GAMSAT University which has an online version: GAMSAT University.
1. You can find a Study Plan that you can download and more advice here: FREE GAMSAT Advice.
2. Online webinars: Dr Ferdinand has free one-hour live online monthly seminars: FREE GAMSAT Webinars.
3. We have placed worked solutions to all ACER's practice problems on YouTube for FREE: Gold Standard GAMSAT YouTube
5. GAMSAT Physics Sample Questions
7. Free GAMSAT Maths Tips and Formulas
If you have particular difficulty in some area, just let us know how you are preparing and we'll see if we can give you some advice or guidance. You can use the Live Chat feature on our website or our forum or email us directly at learn@gamsat-prep.com.
Of course, we do recommend that you do some reading before the course begins. As you know, your options include The Gold Standard Textbook or The Complete GAMSAT Home Study Package or, for ESL students or those who have sat the GAMSAT and have had problems in a particular section, we have specific online programs for Sections 1, 2 or 3.
Because the GAMSAT has been increasingly focused on graphs and tables, please consider the following:
1. One of the initial steps to understand graphs and tables is to review the GAMSAT Math chapters of the GS GAMSAT book. Math is the basis of graphs and tables and must be understood before moving on to GAMSAT-level practice.
2. Only after a GAMSAT Math review, you can consider the section Dr. Ferdinand created on our website dedicated to science GAMSAT-level graphs and tables, in Biology Lessons, Chapter 0. GAMSAT Biology Graph Analysis Practice Questions. Although science graphs can be very complex, it will make Section 1 tables and graph interpretation much easier. As mentioned earlier, it all begins with Math.

VR-1 is one of our two "Greatest Hits" exams! These are our only exams that are solely available in class (our other exams are available in the Heaps book or as online tests). VR-1 and VR-2 contain our most relevant content from our 5000+ MCQs PLUS brand new practice questions touching on the reasoning required by the most recent GAMSATs. After the mock exam, all students will be provided with online access to worked solutions to every practice question in their Virtual Reality GAMSAT mock exam.
All handouts are included in your course fee and will be provided on the day of the seminar. Please bring a pencil and pen for each day of class and a notepad for your notes, calculations and diagrams. Also, please bring picture ID to the first class for registration. Students are not permitted to make video recordings of our courses. No calculators are needed since they are not permitted for the exam.
Please bring your ACER GAMSAT practice booklets (or e-book access with your electronic device or print-out) so that if time is left at the end, worked solutions can be presented in class. Since Gold Standard has already placed all Section 3 worked solutions on YouTube, we do not focus on using precious class time for that purpose. However, when there is applicability to content you have just learned in class, we may briefly examine content from ACER.
Consider bringing snacks and bottled water as refreshments are not included.
It is not necessary for you to bring the Gold Standard GAMSAT textbook to class; however, if you have any questions regarding any content from the book, you can bring it and there will be time for you to clarify any issues in class.
Please note: if you are absent from the seminar, it is not possible to email/mail the course handouts. Handouts will only be given to the registered students in the classroom.
Problem-based learning (PBL) is a student-centered active learning process in which students learn about a subject through the experience of solving problems. Students learn both thinking strategies and relevant knowledge. PBL is the most popular learning technique in medical schools across the world because research has shown that students learn better and remember longer as compared to traditional lectures.
Gold Standard GAMSAT is not associated nor affiliated with ACER in any way. However, we think that it is very important for your future GAMSAT success that you consider the following quote from ACER's website referring to the current GAMSAT:
Gold Standard GAMSAT was the first to introduce problem-based learning (PBL) to GAMSAT courses in Australia. Virtually all students - regardless of academic background - participate in solving GAMSAT practice questions, and discuss responses as well as strategies. The role of the instructor is to facilitate learning by supporting, guiding, and teaching background content.
Although PBL is central to the way we help to optimise your learning, it is your choice. If you do not wish to participate for any reason, when you register for class on the morning of the seminar, please let the instructor know and we will respect your choice.
We call them our Virtual Reality (VR) GAMSAT exams because they are as similar to the real exam as possible without replicating the real exam. VR-1 and VR-2 are both full-length 'greatest hits' practice papers.
For the September and March GAMSAT Courses, VR-1 and VR-2 are followed by online access to answers, helpful worked solutions and strategies including Section 3 background videos where applicable.
For the March GAMSAT Course, VR-1 is also followed by 2 full days of deconstruction, strategies and PBL.
Now is the time to get ready for your Virtual Reality GAMSAT!
